Auto-Numbering Feature

Auto-numbering in Liberate

We strongly recommend that you try this on a dummy job before implementing it on a live Job.
The feature is clever but could wipe out existing reference codes that you have either added manually or imported.

With the new feature you would probably be able to re-instate them quite quickly though.

 

 

 

If the code column is showing as Yellow,  then its going to increment your codes after you press Enter

Quick instructions. – Detailed  instructions are below.

  • The numbering sequence will increment after the first Alpha set.
  • Insert a pace or character to start your sequence.
  • Turn on the feature.
  • Code column will show a yellow tint to indicate that it’s live.
  • Enter your first Code in the header cell.
  • Choose the option from the dialoge box that appears.
  • The code will fill with a code format (which is likely NOT to be what you want).
  • Type your required format in the next cell.
  • The column will fill to the next header or to the end.

 

Detailed procedure

Select the feature
Code columns shows active- Yellow

Enter the first number of your sequence. and click Enter.
The dialogue box will show Choose an Option.
Number all the following rows or Number until next header. 
The system will give you the something but it may not be suitable.
In the next cell down correct this so that you are getting exactly what you need. 

Select the Auto- Numbering Feature again from the toolbar to either clear and start again or to accept your codes.

Once its off (not yellow) you can safely insert new lines and manually number them
or if it’s on it will offer to update the numbering for you.
